Goodwyn will celebrate World Book Day by drawing upon the theme of ‘The book that made me’. Please note that children and staff will not be dressing up this year.
Friends of Goodwyn have been organising a book swap to further mark the occasion. In order that every child participates and is the owner of a new book, please send in a book that your child has loved and is willing to pass on to a new reader. We ask that this be in pristine condition and brought to school no later than Monday 4th March. Please bring your book in a bag with your child’s name and class clearly labelled. We thank you in advance.
Nearer the time, we shall be inviting the children to bring in a book that they hold dear to them and consider completing the sentence, ‘The book that made me…’ For example, the book that made me laugh, cry, read more, happy, imagine etc. They will have the opportunity to share this with their peers and inspire others to read the book too.
