Delancey Schools Chess Challenge

Over the last seven weeks 26 pupils have battled their way through 184  games of chess during their lunch breaks attempting to progress to the next stage of this UK challenge.

After a tense 2 day battle with Dillon Perloff that could have gone either way Leo Tyler finally became this year’s school chess champion.  The magic number to take part in the Mega Final is 17 and those going through to the next stage this year are Dillon Perloff, Rafi Cowan, Nathan Freeman and Leo Tyler.

A special mention must also be given to the 4 pupils who missed out by just 1 point, Chloe Shelley, Micah Sorene, Ethan Lamont and Isabella Green.

Well done to everyone who took part.
