Mental Health Awareness Week
At Goodwyn, we take emotional wellbeing very seriously. We genuinely believe that happy children learn best. With this in mind, we responded to Mental Health Awareness Week by watching a video in assembly about our feelings, how they change and what we can do about feeling worried or upset whilst at school.
We used the opportunity to talk about happy playtimes. Our newly introduced Peer Mediators spoke to us about how playtime issues in Key Stage 2 have been resolved since they have had their training in how to be neutral listeners to both sides when there are minor friendship problems to solve. Our new Play Leaders have been busy practising games which they can organise in the playground at KS2 break times to keep children busy. Both teams will be on hand to ensure that the new variety of games available on the turf on a rota system is fair and engaging for all.
