Goodwyn School was one of eight schools to qualify as a finalist for the first Britannica Magazine Schools Quiz Challenge. More than 80 schools competed in a battle of the brains for a place in the live finals, which was held at the prestigious Bridewell Hall in London, on Wednesday 30 November 2022.

School teams came from Orkney in the north, to Cornwall in the south, and from Ulster in the west to Cambridge in the east. The Goodwyn team consisting of Jesse, Luca, Matthew and Jacob were outstanding and managed to secure 3^rd place in their age category.
