Admissions
Goodwyn School is a non-selective, non-denominational Independent School for boys and girls from 3 to 11 (Nursery to Year 6). We are a school which prepares children for entry into a wide range of secondary schools.
It is always our intention to ensure that all children with us enjoy their unique learning experience.
A School Nursery or Private Nursery? A question that you might be asking yourself.
This is a question that is often raised, especially during our Open Mornings. We believe that our Nursery puts your child at a great advantage as they transition the following year into our Lower Kindergarten (Reception) class. Our Nursery is taught by a qualified teacher and two teaching assistants. They are given ample opportunities to foster a love of learning in a school environment. With carefully constructed lessons that follow the children’s interests, we gently guide and prepare them seamlessly for their future schooling journey. For example, our nursery children attend some of our class assemblies and take part in other schooling events such as our Pancake Run and Sports Day. With a highly skilled team, many of our children are reading and writing at the end of the nursery year. In addition, we also offer wrap-around care from 8am until 5.15pm and this is available from Nursery upwards.
Admissions to the school are on a first-come-first-served basis. We are taking applications for our Nursery and Reception classes for September 2025 and beyond.
If you are looking for a place in any other year group for this or the next academic year, please do call us to discuss your situation as we may still be able to help.
If we have more applications than places then applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
Please see the Joining Goodwyn page for more specific details.
