Admissions

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll make – and we’re here to help every step of the way.
Goodwyn School welcomes children from nursery age 3 through to Year 6. As a non-selective independent school, we value each child for who they are and what they can become ad help prepare for entry into a wide rage of secondary schools. Our admissions process is designed to be warm, personal, and straightforward.

A School Nursery or Private Nursery? A question that you might be asking yourself.

This is a question that is often raised, especially during our Open Mornings. We believe that our Nursery puts your child at a great advantage as they transition the following year into our Lower Kindergarten (Reception) class.

Our Nursery is taught by a qualified teacher and a qualified teaching assistant. They are given ample opportunities to foster a love of learning in a school environment. With carefully constructed lessons that follow the children’s interests, we gently guide and prepare them seamlessly for their future schooling journey. For example, our nursery children attend some of our class assemblies and take part in other schooling events such as our Pancake Run and Sports Day. With a highly skilled team, many of our children are reading and writing at the end of the nursery year. In addition, we also offer wrap-around care from 8am until 5.15pm and this is available from Nursery upwards.

Admissions to the school are on a first-come-first-served basis. We now are taking applications for our Nursery and Reception classes for September 2026 and beyond. We do still have a limited number of occasional places for this academic year.

If you are looking for a place in any other year group for this or the next academic year, please do call us to discuss your situation as we may still be able to help.

If we have more applications than places then applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
