Worries in a box

Mental Health and Well-being

In recent times, our work on mental health and well-being has been more important than ever. We genuinely believe and have always believed that happy children learn best thus giving them opportunities to express emotions, understand their feelings and knowing that they have a safe space in which to resolve problems or anxieties is key.

We have introduced a variety of strategies to address this including a weekly school counsellor, feelings boxes for children to post messages to class teachers for them to read and discuss at a suitable time in a quiet place, Happy Journals- a notebook with a focus on guiding children to positive thinking and Space to Be- a weekly time in the library where teachers and children can elect to go for relaxing activities and to voice a problem as a first step.
